Every morning and every evening, I clean “sleep” from her eyes, and she has tear stains all down both sides of her face. Her eyes aren’t cloudy or blueish, so I don’t think it’s moon blindness. She doesn’t have any discharge in her nostrils either, and she’s not acting strangely, seeming lethargic, or anything different behaviorally. I’m perplexed. I am having to cut grass in my yard a lot lately because of the spring growth. Could she be having a reaction to fresh cut grass in the air or something? Anyone have any ideas until the vet comes?

It could be parasites. That is also a sign of parasites in dogs and cats. You can go to the feed store and buy a bag of Diatomaceous earth (food grade). It is natural and it kills parasites. It is also loaded in Silica wich is good for the hair bones, hooves, and teeth. I am sure it wouldn’t harm your horse if parasites were not the problem. I actually take DE myself and it clears my own eyes!
It could be several things. Spring allergies is a possibility, otherwise sensitivity to light could be another. Try putting a fly mask on (to block sunlight) and see if that helps.
It could be uveitis (is that moon blindness?) you do not need cloudiness- that is blindness or cataracts- different thing. Uveitis is basically an inflammed eye, which can be painful. One of our older ponies have it in both of her eyes- and also has cloudiness in one (partially blind with large cataracts)
