Face blindness

Face blindness info weblog

I already asked this question, and got a couple of answers, but more info was needed. About the weird dream?

Face blindness
bluelightning08 wonders:

the white of my eyes turned black, and my vision in general was weird. I could still see, but things were kind of grey. Usually I don’t care about these things, but this one was pretty involved, and the eye thing kinda stood out. I can go more in depth if anyone can really answer my question, but in the books and stuff nothing was really all that informative.

Not sure what I’m looking for, but it was just weird.
Anyway, more in depth about the dream was that the black of the eye (or blindness, haven’t decided which to call it) was actually CAUSED by something. In the dream I felt almost like a dusting of something was on my face (like a creepy crawly sensation) and I fell asleep outside for a while. When I woke up I felt kinda panicky, but for no real reason, and for a while I didn’t realize anything physical was wrong with my eyes, until I looked in the bathroom mirror. (I thought I just felt that way because I was tired) and I went around asking people if they saw what was wrong.
Not with my eyes, but with ME. I was asking if they noticed what was wrong with me.

Like I said, it was a very long and involved dream, there were other things going on but there are just those things that I can’t remember.
Oh, and there were a lot of plants. I figured that was more because I was outside when I fell asleep(in the dream) but there were a lot of them.
And in reference to a question that was asked by one of the answerers, I actually AM depressed. But I’m not gonna get into that. Completely different topic, :P

Any ideas you have on the DREAM would be appreciated.

the bit with the eyes could mean your outlook on life is very bleak. if no one noticed then they think you’re fine when you’re not. The bit with the plants i guess thats mean natural. So your vision of most things natural in life is changed and you dont see it for the beauty it is but in monotone, you see life in monotone. Dust is tiny little things, maybe the little things someone does to you or the little things in life that make you see things so bleakly.

I am not certain about it, but I have some ideas. White turning to black could be a reversal that will happen in your life. Gray is a transition between black and white, so it also says you will be going through a transition.

Being surrounded by plants might suggest there’s something or a lot of somethings growing in your life (circumstances that are undesirable or issues that need to be dealt with). As I mentioned before I think the eyes changing color represents a change in your perspective about something, probably from a positive view to a negative. Something in your life happened that caused this change in perspective. Could it be something that triggered a recent depressed mood? That dusting on your face, do you feel like you’re wearing a mask, putting on appearances so no one knows what’s really going on? If I’m right then this mask (possibly depression) is probably making you feel creepy, like you want to get out from under it but it seems to be stuck on you. Being outside might suggest being out in the open. Are you ready to be open with someone and tell the truth about how you feel or about what’s going on in your life? There’s probably something gnawing at you inside. Maybe you’re afraid someone will see the real you. Maybe you’re afraid of the consequences of your actions. Maybe you’re afraid to admit that you have a problem with depression. Maybe you’re afraid to make changes because even if it’s horrible being depressed you’re comfortable with it because it’s what you know. Maybe that panicked feeling was because your perspective about something is changing. Maybe you didn’t realize at first because things still seemed pretty normal on the surface. Looking in the mirror, have you taken a good look at your life, evaluated your priorities or faced the fact that something is wrong (either within or beyond your control)? Are you afraid others can see through that mask and know something’s wrong with you, such as the depression? Do you want someone to be honest with you and point out the problem so you can address it (because you’re too close to it to see it)? It sounds like the signs are obvious, like you wear them on your face. By looking at you–your expressions and posture–can someone tell something’s bothering you? Are you hoping someone else can fix your problem for you, or do you just want someone to point it out so you can work on it?

I don’t know your circumstances so I can only speculate. Does any of this sound right? Does it at least give you something to start with so you can connect your dream to something in your life? I suggest keeping a dream journal so you can look back on and analyze your dreams. Write as many details as you can as quickly as you can. Even the stuff in the background might be significant. What is going on in your life that you can connect to what’s going on in your dreams?
