Rabbit Blindness/Stroke Help From Vets Or Experts Please?

Hey guys, I asked a question about a week ago about my rabbit and a swelling on his face. I took him to the vets on Tuesday and was told he had an abcess. I took him in today and he had an op – to check his teeth and flush out all of the abcessy gunk. The main concern was him not recovering from the anaesthetic because he is so old (8 year old dwarf) so when I rang and was told he was fine, I was totally relieved.
However, they rang my mum about an hour later saying he had had an ‘episode’ that may well have been a stroke and he had lost his sight. I want to know how to tell if a rabbit is blind because he seems a little bit squinty but he has had an op on his face so this would be understandable! Also, why would he have had a stroke? Is it because of the op? Will he be alright or is there chance of another stroke, so should I be keeping an uber close eye on him? Thanks
I have been looking at previous questions and answers, but according to those, it sounds like he would be acting differently – dragging a side along, like as though he had lost all movement etc in one side. But this is not the case at all. I want to say that he probably hasnt had a stroke and I dont think he is blind, but I am not the expert – surely the vet is??? :S :S

Every morning and every evening, I clean “sleep” from her eyes, and she has tear stains all down both sides of her face. Her eyes aren’t cloudy or blueish, so I don’t think it’s moon blindness. She doesn’t have any discharge in her nostrils either, and she’s not acting strangely, seeming lethargic, or anything different behaviorally. I’m perplexed. I am having to cut grass in my yard a lot lately because of the spring growth. Could she be having a reaction to fresh cut grass in the air or something? Anyone have any ideas until the vet comes?
She wears a fly mask all day.
