My friend was recently attacked by someone with a gun. He tried to grab my friend’s purse. But it’s one of those that go around the neck and on the opposite shoulder, so he couldn’t get it. My friend sprayed a substance (a mix of rust-remover and ammonia) that she keeps in a small bottle in her pocket into his eyes. both products may possibly cause blindness. But my friend has a broken nose, broken colar bone and bruises all over face. The man was found guilty and will be in prison for 7 years. Yes he still has no vision in either eye. My friend did not get arrested for that .

Is it legal to spray substance in an asualters eye that may cause permanant blindness?
